The BT network in that area doesn't even do ADSL2+. Don't confuse TalkTalk wholesale's network with TalkTalk retail - if you bought from Vivaciti for example using the TTwholesale network you wouldn't ever deal with TalkTalk themselves. Like you don't deal with BTwholesale when you buy a BTw powered service.

I feel like a kid before Xmas, just like I've just had the December 1st chocs from the advent calender.

New cabinets are popping up all over town now

Do they generally wait until all the planned cabinets are installed before upgrading the exchange?

It's always the last few months wait that is the hardest, lol.

and out of town, surrounding villages are nearly all getting them, all connected back to Bracknell, even if a "local" exchange exists!

however, it seems like no one will get it until all are connected, that could be next week, or the BTO backstop of 31st Dec 2012

hopefullly by christmas we will already have forgotten how slow theinternet used to be

Nope, the most details information is from the postcode check on the BT wholesale checker: "Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st December 2012" with the likely speeds.

My new cabinet is there just waiting for everything to be enabled.
