BT Infinity Physical Connection to Home

Guys/Gals,

I am interest in signing up for the BT Infinity 80/20 plan.

According to the checker I am eligible but I know that the only physical cabling to my home is old copper phone wiring.

I currently get 17MB with BT over ADSL2+, I am wondering how they will get the superfast connection in? WIll it need a new wire from the street box or will it utilise my existing phone line?

All FTTC connections are provided over the existing copper wire in to the home.

All Openreach will do is fit your master socket with a filtered faceplate and install your FTTC modem right beside the master socket to ensure you get the best possible speed.

The reason FTTC is faster than ADSL 2+ is that it is only copper to the street side cabinet, not all the way back to the exchange.

Don't forget, other ISPs are available - you don't have to go with BT!
