FTTP maybe perhaps anyone help?

[link to this post]

Well ive come here hoping that perhaps someone can help as Openreach, Superfast Cornwall or anyone else can offer any information.

Perranporth is my exchange and I am connected to cab P3 TR60AT which is now designated FTTP. Was FTTC with a live date of November 2012, Then Jan 2013, Then March 2013 and now FTTP with no dates available.

Funnily enough in March some poor bloke in the middle of a cold dark night was digging away up the lane and some FTTP marked cables appeared next to the telephone pole just near the house. However there is has laid in a coiled fashion not connected to anything just lying on the grass.

And thus the puzzle remains. FTTC/P checkers say as the exchange is enabled check with BT. BT wont give any info (am i speaking to the wrong people) Superfast could be the conservative party by the way of answers they give or dont give.

Help! anyone??

You could try an email to [email protected] , they can take 10-20 days to reply. A lot of people have got very straight replies re their FTTC cabinets. I expect it handles FTTP as well, but the Cornwall bit might be more difficult to get info about.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.2/15.2Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Have you tried actually ordering an FTTP service from someone ?At the FTTP site I was working at the other day, found that many punters just presumed that the would be 'done' automatically, no they have to order.

Well talk talk or BT are the only two enabled at the Perranporth exchange and both have said I cannot get fibre yet. Any one else I could try?

If the tubing is coiled then install to the manifold is not complete yet

Plusnet are only doing trials with a few existing customers at the moment.

I think they did tell someone if they signed up to ADSL2+ then they could go straight on the trial. But I don't know if it happened.

Agreed. But it may be an oversight, so a live order might gee things up.

Was in Newquay two weeks ago and saw similar.
http://www.coolwebhome.co.uk/images/fibre-newquay.jpg

It is basically where they have laid out the fibre tubing (black with yellow stripe) and have not yet joined all the bits of the puzzle.

So looks like FTTP, just needs some more work, to join the black tubing to all the other bits.

The exact location of the photos was along the SW Costal path in Newquay, near to the station

Where the manifolds are in place, it should be pretty much ready to go. Engineer installs BFT from the manifold to the CSP, then blows fibre from the DP to the CSP. Two splices, one at the DP and another at the Splitter node, then a second visit for the actual install from CSP to ONTE.

that might have been me - it's certainly what PN told me. I have signed up with PN ADSL, unfortunately BT still have not delivered FTTP, although parts of the village are able to order, seems they are releasing the ducted properties first and holding back on those served from poles

Are you actually in Deddington ? If so, saw two FTTP installs being done by colleagues on overhead fed properties.

No - Madingley exchange, Cambridgeshire. The single PON in question covers most of our village; the older roads are served from poles, but the newer developments are ducted. Reports from those able to order are all from newer properties. We know from BT that there are "a few" properties where poles are still shared with electricity supply cables, but they won't say if this is holding up ALL the pole based properties.

Looks bad for me

We have now completed our re-evaluation of all the cabinets and Knottingley 2 is still not included in our commercial roll out.
If the actual number of premise that this cabinet serves, significantly increases it may get considered outside of the current programme.
The best way forward would be to enquire from your borough council to see if they have secured funding via BDUK to increase the fibre broadband penetration beyond the Openreach commercial rollout and whether it would include your cabinet..
