Sky and TalkTalk do not have an IP profile, no

. It comes from the BT Wholesale system, setting the BTW BRAS and MSAN

.
My theory is that the BT Wholesale DLM is still used, but just accepts the sync speed notified by the Openreach one.
I'm sure you remember that until recently the BT Wholesale tester would not accept LLU phone numbers at all. Now it runs a speed test just like any other site, but the Further Diagnostics were introduced at the time that was.
If you notice, the Further Diagnostics don't actually do anything. They take the phone number just like the older version did, then feed the results just obtained back to the servers exactly as the old one did at completion. They've simply moved the phone number input to after the speed test.
What is happening with the OP and the other poster seeing intermittent working of FD I have no idea.
