HG612 ver 3b unlocked stats check please

been having problems since march with my fibre,so got a modem and unlocked it as i was getting frustrated with being in the dark as to what was happening to my line..so i can understand most of it..i just need someone to give it a gander to see if anything looks wrong...kind regards

No problems with those stats at all.

You are sync'd at 80/20, with attainable speeds of 93/31. That leaves a healthy SNR to overcome noise (which might appear as crosstalk, as take-up increases).

You look to be extremely close to the cabinet - I'd guess at just over 100 metres from the attenuation figures (about one third of my figures, for a distance of 350 metres) and from the low-ish transmit powers.

For that distance, you may expect the attainable speed figures to be even higher, so it suggests your line is already showing the signs of crosstalk. However, it isn't enough to cause any problems.

DLM has not intervened (INP=0 and delay=0), but the modems have chosen to implement FEC protection on the upstream. That seems to be a regular occurance when the upstream has plenty of spare bandwidth available; it has no bad side-effect to either bandwidth or latency.

The error statistics show 3000 CRC errors over the 40 hours the modem has been on, with only 116 ES's, which is low (the latter is probably the thing that DLM monitors). For comparison, over the last 90 days, my modem was experiencing 750 ES's and 7,100 CRCs per day without triggering DLM.

If you have problems, it either happens elsewhere, or you experience intermittent problems on your line that didn't show at all over the 40 hours of uptime you posted.

you aren't on the latest firmware either 038 is the newest.

wwwombat thanks for looking..it all appears as it did to me,all ok,just wanted to rule out things at my end.been having a horendous time with congestion/speeds with bt

Doh! missed that bit.

The obvious question back to the OP; Does this modem replace an HH5?

Some people have had serious problems with the HH5, getting a lot of disconnections. Putting the modem in place could well stop those things.

However, if a faulty HH5 was in place, there is the likelihood that it would have triggered DLM intervention. If that were the case, we would see the FEC/interleaving still in place, until the new modem had been in place for a fair few days.

The second question, then, is: how long had the modem been in place before you sent the stats over? Just the 40 hours, or much longer?

i have a hh4 and was connected with an eci modem,my cabinet is a huawei one so i got the hg612 to match.
the only thing swapping modems has done is raise my sync rate a little also i now have the gui and stats as a bonus.cheers
edit...the modem stats are for about 2 days...

The one that says unlockedgui-nobtagent in the experimental folder deffo uses the latest 038m version as that's the one I use and I've had no issues with it at all.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the bcm96368MVWG_fs_kernel_HG612V100R001C01B028SP10_no-btagent has been updated to the latest 038m version as well (even though it says 035m) although I've not used that one so I can't confirm that.
