Scenario maybe

1. Exchange phone goes to does not have sky LLU
2. Exchange fibre goes to does have sky LLU
3. Sky may be happy to supply voice over WLR and GEA-FTTC via their LLU backhaul at the other exchange.

This is why relying on Market 1 or even the newer Market A/B definitions should not be done.

Of course until the FTTC service goes live, we don't know whether its just the Sky checker is broken.

Yup, I appreciate that, I was using Samknows to see which exchanges have Sky LLU, since that's the best public data we have on it. Then I plugged two different phone numbers from two different exchanges which apparently have no Sky LLU into the Sky checker, and both times FTTC was offered and ADSL wasn't.

It's interesting information to FTTC shoppers who know that their exchange doesn't carry Sky LLU; they definitely should check their line with Sky since it appears some good deals are available, despite their lack of LLU presence.

This must be a (customer-friendly) policy change . A while back Sky would not supply FTTC if they didn't have the ability to offer LLU phone at the customer's exchange.

I am not so sure its a policy change and not a side effect of a bug, since they still in theory list Sky Connect as an option for people, we stopped listing it as no-one really seemed interested in it.

The line I looked at did not have FTTC available and the Sky checker seemed to offer FTTC hence believe it may be a bug.

Yup, the more choice the better. And of course now that Sky offer the UK's cheapest fibre offer at £10 a month it's even more interesting, especially with all the new BDUK provisions on smaller (potentially non LLU) exchanges.

It would appear from what I have seen that Sky will not offer Sky Connect where FTTC is available (a good choice in my opinion). Sky Connect is still offered where there is no FTTC presence.

That is interesting, I will have to check Sky/Talk Talk when Fibre goes live here incase they have run it from a different exchange with LLU.

Getting excited now, saw BT laying Fibre today on the road towards our exchange. Hopefully after that they will continue to our village

My relative is in a Market 1 exchange with no LLU and no fibre.

In order to see the state of play with Sky on fibre exchanges where Sky have no LLU presence I took two random telephone numbers & postcode combinations from company websites on the internet who are in an area with fibre but no Sky LLU, and put them in the Sky DSL checker.

(Yes I know this is a but naughty of me, but I couldn't see any other way of obtaining this information prior to my relative's exchange going live with fibre).
