I thought FTTC had to be above 15MBS?

Just done a check using the BT BROADBAND AVAILABILITY CHECKER for a relative, FTTC estimate is ridiculously low (below ADSL rate)?

Would there be any advantage in fibre over adsl at this rate?

No guarantee on it being 15 Mbps has ever existed. BT Consumer will only sell you Infinity if estimate is over 15 Mbps though.

Results suggest you are 2km or more from your street cabinet, with the exchange another 3 to 4km away.

That's the worse I ever seen your estimated speed. I do feel for u. It's pointless to have FTTC where your ADSL2+ is greater speed than FTTC doesn't make any sense at all.

Best to move house nearby FTTC cabinet. But, I can understand u can get virgin media cable instead?
