I am wondering when I can expect BT Infinity in my area here in London. Since the day I arrived in the London/UK. They keep suggesting it will become available put always push the data forward. While a friend a bit up the street (different postcode) already has BT Infinity.
W2 3EN apparently has fibre broadband available while W2 3ES does not yet.
Are there anyways to find out when it's expected? The BT Wholesale said since April 2013 it will be coming available between current month+2 (e.g. April-June 2013 and now November-December 2014). Always it has been pushed forward.
I really would like to get BT Infinity so I can cancel the current broadband contract and get faster internet. As currently I am in the dark ages after being used to the cable broadband in Switzerland
Thanks.

Do you know which exchange you are on? Paddington is served by two or possibly three/four - one near Bayswater station, another up on Praed Street near the Paddington station and potentially on the other side of the A40. The two postcodes could be on different exchanges.

With that, someone else may have a little more detail.
What ever you do though, do NOT cancel. You migrate to your new chosen ISP using a MAC code and then do a planned upgrade to FTTC (Infinity or any other ISPs name). If you cancel, you could end up with termination charges.

I am going to cancel lit, see below. I have been waiting long enough for this to become available. Ridiculous that it takes over 1,5 years. Now they postponed it to September 2015. Maybe I should move to a flat where they already got it

I say stay where you are now and just wait it out, at least your ADSLx speeds are good.
We have been waiting for our FTTP Install to be completed since end of 2011 and at least you have a date, we don't even have that and 5 doors down from us have the FTTP.
So like I said just wait it out.

Well, if they keep postponing it doesn't matter whether I have a date or not.
I could get a cheaper package when switching.

See, this is where the French and the English differ., dustyfrog. The English actually enjoy waiting and queuing for things; it's in the blood. It gives them something to moan about like the weather. A form of self-punishment; a type of martydom.

I could get a cheaper package when switching. My point was at least you have a date that is being displayed i.e. they say you will be able to get Fibre possibly at that date, we don't even have that, even though BTO started installing it back in 2011 when the BTO Engineers was installing the hardware our end in the pit and up the pole, over 3 years later still no news, apart from what I have been told on here.
All we get displayed is that we can only get ADSL 2+ at best, which is better than nothing.

I am connected to Paddington cabinet 12 and originally there was a Fibre start date of 31/12/2015. But of course it did not happen ... and now the date has gone altogether ... which makes me think months and months...

October 2016 according to Codelook's website. It's currently at "field survey" on the Openreach where and when checker.
