Eagerly anticipating FTTC, but When...?

Hi,
I am on Cabinet 1 on the WWCREW exchange and have recently noticed lots of Openreach activity at my local cabinet, A new fibre cabinet was installed on Feb 10, and connected to power at the same time, about three weeks later the fibre was blown and connected. then last week a pair of engineers were working on the cab for two days (I assume installing the cross connects between the old and new cabs.) I asked the engineer if we were getting close to having FTTC and he grunted and said hopefully sometime this year.
The BT Broadband availability checker currently makes no mention of FTTC for my number and gives no estimated date.
Is there a way to find out roughly when the cab wil go live?

Thanks Fred, thats a bit disappointing, I was hoping that once the cabinet was installed and fibre blown it would only be a matter of commissioning.

That might be what happens - it's far from unknown for cabs to go live early.

If it is actually complete with backhaul and everything else in place it will be commissioned, regardless of the schedule.

They sometimes leave it for a month, to see if any duct blockages, so they can clean them before fibre is deployed. Its the same on my exchange; blockages have even delayed fibre till june when supposed to get it back in december!

Keep checking bt wholesale adsl checker if you get a fiber estimate it wont be a few days after that or so Ive found to be the case
