NSCTR ABERDEEN CULTER Cabinet 6

I been waiting patiently for our cabinet to go live and it has, I tried to order FTTC,it said it was available but I was too far from the cabinet. I spoke to my ISP and if I ordered a new line I could get FTTC, not sure how this works. So hence I placed my order for a second phone line with FTTC on it. A couple days after I placed my order me and the some of the next door neighbours could order FTTC. The Engineers came out and told me they had no such work order for a second line, it was just to connect FTTC. They tried to use my existing line, but they couldn't get it to sync and hence put me back onto copper. Now if I check for my line again it says my phone number can get FTTC and a couple of my neighbours, but the other neighbours can't. I'm a bit confused by the whole situation and hopefully someone can through a bit of light on the subject

If you're too far from the cabinet to get copper, then a second line is going to have the same issue.

I get about 4.5mb on average at the moment on ADSL. It just seems a bit strange that the BT engineer says I was 4000m from the cabinet, but that seems closer to the distance to the exchange rather than cabinet 6. Here are the results from the BT Broadband checker

How far do you think it is to the cabinet? Both direct straight line and by road? Not exact but it will show whether there is any chance or you really are too far.

By road I'm about 2000m.

By road 2km is beyond the edge where people on here would be saying getting any FTTC speed is marginal, certainly at that distance would expect fttc to be slower than ADSL2+

Ok, there is something strange going on with BTOR checker, I can still order fibre although the range is too far, hence I did and hence it didn't work. The UG engineer said they will be extending the cabinet but he doesn't know where and when, but he said it will be along the main road where there a 200 pair cable ran along. Why would BTOR checker be so wrong?
