My cabinet was recently renewed and had a G.fast pod fitted. Though I have had news that it may not be enabled and ready for orders until next year. frown

My D side is about the same length as yours, though I have a feeling that there is "silver copper" in mine somewhere... frown

I can wait, I get the full 80/20 for a banging price, that seems enough for now.

Ditto... well, about the speed part. smile But I would like G.fast ASAP. Beats having to splash £13k for FTTPoD.

Pilot area? I have heard some pilot areas are actually behind some non-pilot areas in terms of being enabled.

Waiting is always the worst part. I'm not getting g.fast but fttp -watching all the ducting work on roadworks.org is just as painful!

Ah, but worth it in the long run.

Would much rather be awaiting FTTP than watching the Last Chance Saloon that is g.Fast being dragged in to service to assuage some politicians tick sheet.

G.fast to be fair, does bring in theory faster speeds to suitable homes quite quickly. That said it is the last dsl product before fibre!

Morrisons Utilities are working about 100 yards from me at the moment. Replacing a Non-Return Valve in a neighbour's sewer.

There was talk once of threading fibre through sewers, wasn't there?

Cheers!

I wonder if the offspring of those who decided DIG cables were a money saving boon, have deemed connectorised FTTP a further splendid example of The Way Ahead ??

The Fibre Bubble is all about the race to badly install shallow DIG tubes as far as I can make out.
