2nd Fibre connection at home

Does anyone have any experience of adding a 2nd phone line to home?

I'm in a "new build" area, which has been built inside the last few years, and all our BT lines are underground. I have a normal telephone line, which I have BT infinity (76mbps) but am curious how easy it might be to add a 2nd line with Fibre again.

Could it be done using the current copper wires (apparently, there might only be 2 of the likely 4 present being used?) if not, would Openreach somehow add more cables for it to happen?

Easy enough, there�s a �spare� 2nd pair in the existing UG feed....

Would it cause any issues using both pairs of wires? Would one interfere with the other?

So might it simply be a case of a BT Openreach engineer turnng up at the house, playing with the existing box on the wall, and I'm all done?

You are likely to suffer from crosstalk where the signal on each pair interferes with the other pair so if you are currently getting less than 80 Mbps downstream then it will probably drop a bit when the second pair is active.

My router shows that I connect at 80, but a speedtest usually gives me 70-72 maybe.

Is any drop in speeds likely to be closer to 10% or 50% on each connection? Thanks.
