Is this pole equipment an indicator of FTTP?

I noticed this has appeared on a pole a few meters down the lane from my house, we're currently not on a cab scheduled for FTTC, supposedly we're to get FTTP, could this be it happening, and if so, how long?

That is a (not completed yet) FTTP �track node� . So will eventually be a common joint on an FTTP route.

Looks like it will be used for aerial fibre cabling judging by the cable locking device on its right.

So a possible good omen, but could be months or even years away yet, maybe even part of a bespoke solution with no bearing for you guys at all.

Watching for a CBT (connectorised block terminal) appearing on your copper DP pole would be a much more promising site.

There's only two houses fed from that pole, we're on a dead-end lane in a rural location, the only other house is our 80yo neighborhood, I doubt she's ordered any bespoke fibre products - so that's more promising!

Is there anywhere near with planning permission for a new estate? Or even a single new house.

No, nothing. We're destined for FTTP, the "where and when" website says we're to get fibre as we're not in line for FTTC, but gives no indication of when - hopefully this is a good sign.

Don't get your hopes up like I did. They recently laid overhead fibre all the way down to my unit in a rural area. Rang BT who confirmed that they had indeed laid fibre cables but they would NOT actually connect it to the network back at the TE until ADSL in my area is turned off which is currently planned for 2025! I'll have to put up with snailband until then!

Check https://roadworks.org and set it to display the next 12 months worth of work (Only really 2 weeks max in advance will be added there by then).

Also, you could DM @OpenreachHelp about it (they confirmed FTTP will be rolled out into my area around Jan 2020) but it could be earlier since they've been at the bottom of my road pulling through Fibre for the past month.
