The annoying thing is half the estate which was all built at the same time 2 years ago has FTTP

... was your estate built by two different developers I wonder ?

I get this message too, but i've started to see work on poles in my area....

My street is fed underground but others around me are poles and they've had the devices fitted to the top and fibre ran up to them.

I believe my area *Derry/LDerry* was on a list for April 19 for FTTP, but no idea when it goes live

Nope same developer (Bellway). Estate was built in 2012-2013 and the highlighted parts i believe went FTTP live in 2017

Lordvader

You will find you are in the early part of the development and the FTTP part was completed more recently after OR started FTTPing all new estates where the developer requested. ( Likely since 2015).

in 2013 OR could only FTTP only developments in areas agreed with OFCOM mainly Ebbsfleet new town, but a couple of other places as well. Once the restriction came off in 2015 they offered to FTTP all new estates over a certain size where the developer asked. This is now down to about 5 houses, below that the developer still has to pay towards the cost above it is free to the developer apart from his labour in providing the duct. ( Parts are provided)

The funny thing is that when checking a few other buildings close by, the Openreach website says "We dont have plans to upgrade your area yet. But were working with Government and industry to change that". There are also a few others that already have FTTC. It seems to be only my building that has FTTP coming. Could it be a mistake?

Three's new 5G service is available here, so I'm pondering whether to get that (12 month contract) or hold on for FTTP. FTTP would be my preference but if it will be close to a year or more away then I could get 5G in the meantime.
