I live in Tallarn Green, (postcode SY14 7LL). Most of the village has FTTP available and before I bought my present house back in June I checked that FTTP was available to my address. Two days after exchanging contracts I went to order service from my ISP to be totd that FTTP was on a waiting list and all I could order was (slow) ADSL. Six months on, it's still on the waiting list.
I have tried contacttng Openreach directly, they answered my initial enquiry without really telling me anything and have simply blanked all subsequent contacts.
My house has the copper connection coming in via an underground duct and I suspect this may be the reason for the delay. There is a fibre manifold visible on Pole No. 64 which serves two of my immediate neighbours and which could easily serve my house (although underground would obviously be preferable).
To make matters worse, the ADSL connection is now becoming very flaky.
Any ideas how I can move things forward? Even to get a date when FTTP will be available would be a step in the right direction....
Grateful for an thoughts / suggestions...
