Help - Symmetrical Gigabit fiber installation shows slower d

I just got gigabit broadband over symmetrical fiber installed at my home office by the local public utilities district. The tech plugged in his tester into the ethernet port and showed around 850Mb each direction up/down also same when he plugged into and eth port on my router. When I run the Speedtest app on either of 2 computers on my LAN connected with gigabit NICs to the same Netgear Nighthawk router, I get only 250-300mb down and ~850mb up.

Does anyone have any thoughts why the speedtests on my computer shows such a large discrepancy on the download speed?

Is this in the UK?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

Which country are you in ?

�local public utilities district. � doesn�t sound like language to describe the infrastructure in the UK.

PUD (Public utility districts) is in Washington far as i know could be wrong though.

Which states the west of Ireland. The two posts are less than 4 minutes apart, which seems a very short time to forget ones password wink.

Not definitive of course, but very odd. Especially as the second is not a copy and paste of this one, but almost certainly the same poster.

I always wondered if going from adslguide.org.UK to thinkbroadband.COM had an impact in this.

VirginMedia 200/20 (22 Nov 19). Was FTTC for 7 years (55/12 to 46/5)
