What will this be for - FTTPoD install? Or future FTTP?

[link to this post]

Hi there,

As by the picture this has appeared on one network the two phone symbols are the same notification of BT needing to gain access to the manholes to provide new cabling. What would this be for/is there anybody that could give any further insight (hazard a guess). Not to mention the surrounding road is planned to be closed too. There are several other locations too where this same work is going to be happening between June 30th and July 8th.

Many thanks

Could be a leased line, could be FTTPoD, could be backbone capacity expansion, could be FTTC infill (although I don't see any pending cabinets here).

Dorking isn't on the published fibre first "transparency list" or the "rural exchanges list", so I think it's unlikely you're getting FTTP just yet.
