Openreach FTTP Wait once street wired up?

[link to this post]

I am in a fibre first area and have been watching streets nearby getting connected up over the last few months or so. Openreach were also up and down our street for weeks a month ago, including doing work in a manhole outside our house.

A few weeks ago we got a note through our door saying that Openreach was closing our road for 5 days starting this week to install faster broadband. Looking forward to it as we've only had FTTC here for the last 10 years.

Today they've dug up the road outside our house to install a pipe going from the manhole to the telegraph pole that serves our house and the neighbours. They've also been doing the same at other points on the road.

Openreach haven't installed the fibre equipment on the telegraph pole yet, but I'd imagine there's a good chance they'll do it this week while the road is closed (no footpath on that side of the road). Hopefully the fibre is already laid to the manholes and just needs running to the telegraph poles on the street.

I appreciate that it depends on what other work there is to do, but what kind of timescale have others had between the work on their street finishing, to being able to order?
My contract with EE ran out this month and I'm obviously not going to sign up to a new contract with them, but I am paying more now because I'm out of contract.
