Does the BTW Speed Tester bypass LLU's?

[link to this post]

Hi,

So I've been having congestion issues with TalkTalk, today I did a few tests.

Normally get 60-70mb down.

At 9PM the TBB tester reported 26-36mb x1-x6 download speed.

I then did a BTW performance test and it came up with:

63mb down.

I quickly double checked by using the TalkTalk speed tester and it came out with the same result as the TBB test.

Re-did the BTW test and 60+ again.

Does anyone know if the BTW speed tester somehow bypasses an LLU's backhaul at some point and avoids the congestion?

Can't answer your question but weirdly I can do a first stage test on that site and get a result even with 4G connection and no landline.

It doesn't and cannot.

Building better networks, not just faster ones.
