Reasonable Speed but slow to load ....

[link to this post]

We have FTTC, not great speeds but ok - a typical test will show Ping around 30, Download 22, Upload 4.3 and Jitter 1
Our problem is slow webpage loading, sometimes up to 10 seconds even with trying to access a range of different sites. It happens using an Ipad, laptop, desktop and even a mobile (with data off), so I wonder if its the router ? We are with Plusnet and its their standard router, about 3 years old.

Spoke to Plusnet and they said "its the Internet, not us or our equipment". Is there any way I can 'test' the router ?.

Most likely the DNS

https://use.opendns.com shows how to use their DNS IP address

Changing DNS can improve the time it takes for a device to resolve the website name to the IP address it actually uses to connect.

Many thanks - you can't change the DNS settings in a Hub One Plusnet router. I can do it on each device but just a lot of hassle.

Why not try it on one or two devices and see if the problem is resolved. If it does, then you need to get PN to sort it.

After some reasearch I bought a BT Business Smart Hub to replace the old PN one - massive improvement.
