FTTC Waiting List - Is expansion possible?

[link to this post]

I'm on an EO line that was made FTTC possible some 5 years ago with a PCP and fibre cabinet placed in the exchange compound.
I got Sky FTTC at the time but have since moved to Virgin.

Looking at my options I now notice that the cabinet is full (Waiting List).
This is what the PCP and Fibre cabinet look like now.

Cabinet 10 in Exchange Compound

Is there any possibility of future expansion to this arrangement?
I guess the first expansion was the carbuncle on the right side of the fibre cabinet and a second expansion on the right side of the PCP.
I also assume that the unit on the left of the PCP is a cable expansion. There was a small new build made locally that is now served by this cabinet.

Thanks for the reply.

Bollington (MRBOL)

The extension on the PCP looks the newest but I'm not sure when that was added.
I guess it could be in place but not populated yet?

Looks like it's up for expansion - Codelook is saying Cab 10 is due to be upgraded by April.

It looks like it might have been expanded twice already.

The fibre cabinet has an expansion on its right hand side. This is to accommodate more IDC blocks for the larger 64 port line cards (x4) that were fitted to the cabinet, increasing capacity in this cabinet to the maximum 256 port.
It contains a Huawei MA5616 DSLAM.

Then later (likely recently) they have fitted the vented sidepod on the PCP.
This contains a Huawei MA5818 DSLAM.
It can also do a maximum of 256 ports with all line cards fitted.
(There's no G.Fast in the area so not a G.Fast pod).

You're probably just waiting on the new VDSL Sidepod being commissioned.
As mentioned above the current estimate for this to be activated is April 2021 though that's a very rough date.

This is a cabinet that supposedly wasn't commercially viable for OpenReach to build and required state aid funding to install (Phase BDUK Cheshire 12a).
Seems they underestimated demand considerably.

I was quite surprised when the original cabinet went in given it was so small.
There were quite a few EO lines on the exchange with some quite large groups about 1km away.

Does the expansion pod with the vents have fan cooling - maybe I could take a listen to see if it's active?

The pod on the PCP will have cooling fans as it contains a DSLAM iniside. It may or may not be powered up yet.
