Sky & OR and total incompetence.

[link to this post]

Long story short, ordered FTTC on the 1st Feb at an address with a go live date of the 16th Feb.

Ever since then, fobbed off with excuse after excuse from Sky saying they are waiting for an update from OR as to why it hasnt been connected, and yet every time Sky provide a update, they jut say that OR will supply an update on X date, every time, and still no further forward.

Engineer visited, plugged his tester in and went off. 30mins later came back and said he was just off to check something else, never to be seen again.

I have checked on the BTW availablilty checker and from what i can make out, there is capacity at the cabinet and FTTC can be supplied.

What i am asking is, what else could possibly be holding up the connection?

And to think HMG are throwing money at them hand over fist for FTTP for nearly everyone by 2026.

LOL.

There must be a problem with the available ports in the cabinet. This will likely need someone specifically skilled to resolve , but openreach are pulling resources away from legacy work to concentrate on their fibre build so manpower is sparse.
If you make a high level complaint to the CEO that should speed things up a great deal.
