FTTP in my area, but…

[link to this post]

There is FTTP in my area. The local maps show it very close to my home. A few months ago, some Openreach guys pulled something to an underground chamber in my road. "Yes, it's for fibre".

Registered an interest with Openreach.

Nothing heard. Where to find out if we are still on their plan.

I have done that. No.

I was wondering why many surrounding localities had it, if my area was still in progress or had been excluded. Is there a local installations team/contact?

By "No" do you mean this?

"At the moment, we don't have any plans to upgrade your area to full fibre, but provide your contact details and we'll keep you up to date if things change - we add new locations into our build plan every three months."

Basically the reason is that they can't build everywhere at once. I'm afraid that's about as good as an answer as you'll get.

There is a high level map in the "where and when" page, but this is only at the level of exchange areas, not individual properties. If your exchange area is in scope, it will appear here - in brown when "in plan" (typically 18 month horizon), then yellow when due to start in 3 months, then purple when building started.

No

An email with no return address

"Your address is part of our Ultrafast fibre rollout programme. We'll keep you updated throughout the process as your address progresses through our build plan."

But no communication in several months. Who/where to ask for updates.

Thanks.

When I got that email after I registered interest the only communication I got from Openreach was when FTTP became available.

The giveaway that FTTP was on it's way was when NPS turned up and started putting ducting between the footway boxes and installing CBT's. After that it was about 4 weeks before it was available to order.

CEO of Openreach [removed by tbb]
One of the team will look into it for you, give him your details and problem.
Good luck

Isn't emailing the CEO about a simple availability check a bit OTT?

The OpenReach Fibre checker confirms FTTP is on the way.
The normal OpenReach contact channels will answer with an estimated date. No need to email the CEO.

The exec team pick up the emails - standard way to get in touch with the team who can assist best.
