It seems like the first customers have been connected, but have taken a long time once they had the fibre down. Also one of them who ordered a 900Mb/s connection is at the moment only running at 500Mb/s as the routers supplied will not cope with the higher speed.
Seems very strange since this company is in one other town and the person who runs it also used to run another network.
the more i hear, the more it puts me off moving to them.

As said in previous threads of the same subject...if you are risk averse, simply wait and see until more friends and neighbours are connected, and a more thorough picture builds based on their experiences.
The router throughput issue sounds like hearsay (or a misunderstanding). There could be numerous things at play, especially with a new rollout.
Openreach have their fair share of new connection issues, and they have over a million FTTP subscribers. You just need to read some of the threads on here.

+1, and there's also very little to lose. You're in the UK, there are laws about the products you are sold. If you buy the service and it's rubbish then you cancel, and you've lost a bit of time.
I certainly wouldn't be struggling with a poor quality copper broadband connection if alternatives were available. This sentiment even extends to Virgin Media (just about), as 60Mbps FTTC is starting to become a limitation for my working from home activities.

I have no choice but to wait, but I would have done anyway, but for how long? My Plusnet contract comes to the end in January and while I am willing to wait 2-3 months after that until Zzoomm comes up here and get things going, I am not sure if I want to wait for any longer, after all I should be able to get another good deal with plusnet and that will be another 18 month contract.
The person said that at the moment the speed he is on is 500Mb/s in fact the photo he posted was slightly less than that, no doubt due to overheads and the reason being is that the routers can't cope with 900Mb/s, so that came from the horse's mouth so to speak. I can't have another look at the moment as Facebook have gone belly up. Maybe they supplied the wrong routers, I don't know.
I know openreach or out of reach as I call them have problems.

It is a lot of hassle if it doesn't go right, it is not like going from say Plusnet FTTC to Talk Talk FTTC, as they are still using the same network, so it is just an easy change. Not that I would touch Talk Talk with a barge pole. Zzoomm is a different ball game as it involves digging to bring the fibre here and all that sort of thing.
Poor quality copper? To be honest considering how old the cables are here I am shocked I have the speed I do, 35-37 Mb/s which to be honesty is fine for what I do, I don't know what work you do from home to need anything faster than 60Mb/s.
We will wait and see, but as I said, Zzoomm don't seem to be that great at the moment.

Or he was just going by a WiFi speed test. Not the router stats.
Connections: OnePlus 8 Pro, 4G+ (LTE) max 165Mbps down, 24Mbps up on Three Mobile, and B311 4G+ router, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up (Three)ZTE MF286D router speedtest.net 113/20Mbps.

I have no idea, it is certainly a computer as the photo is of a monitor, I did try to ask him, but Facebook, while up, is not posting anything.

I think it's hard to describe 500Mbps as "rubbish". Don't use your friend's experience of being unable to go faster than 500Mbps as any sort of quality guideline. More often than not, the limitation is with the client device.
If you're happy with 35-37Mbps service, and the price you get with Plusnet, then you're fine as you are.
Zzoomm will only be of interest to you if:
1. You would enjoy faster speeds, especially uploads
2. It's cheaper than Plusnet 40/10 (I suspect not)

No one said anything about it being rubbish, and he is not my friend, just someone who posts in the Zzoomm group on Facebook and he did not say 500Mb/s was rubbish, he is happy with the higher speed and so it seems are the other couple that have posted on there. The problem is that Zzoomm seems to be making a few mistakes and the way they have dug up the city for the fibre have annoyed a lot of people. Not because of the digging, but the way they have done it.
Do I need faster speeds? I can stream in 4k, play music and do everything I need to do, sure uploading is only around 9Mb/s, not that I do a lot of that at the moment. Granted now that Zzoomm have changed the packages and that the base package is now 150Mb/s down and up, where before, it was 100Mb/s down, but only 10 up, it seems better value.
Out of contract, Plusnet will be more expensive, Zzoomm is £29 a month for 150Mb/s, Plusnet will be £36.97 out of contract as it stands for 37Mb/s. So yes it would make sense to go with Zzoomm in that way. But it depends on what Plusnet can do for me price wise.
It is strange, we have been waiting for something like this for years, some people are excited about it and others are not. I suppose if you have a few people in the house then the extra speed is useful.
My problem is the hassle, having people in the house, digging up the front drive, still have no idea how they would get a fibre cable down here unless they follow the steps, just seems to be hassle. One of the reason I will not have a smart meter is because of the hassle.
We will see

Sorry, it was jpm who used the word "rubbish". As for disruption when digging up the streets. these problems are common to all altnets, and generally forgotten about when it's over.
For me, running on 30/4 FTTC was a big pain, especially the 4Mps upload. Uploading a 2.5GB file would take nearly 2 hours. I'm now on 300/50 FTTP so I get 10 times speed both upload and download. 150/150 sounds like a great service; I'd swap mine for 150/150 if I had the option.
If you want the service, but the sticking point is how they'd run the cable up your drive, then ask them. If you don't want the service anyway, there's no need to ask.
At least you have the option. Even if you don't use it, but you own your house, then it will be a plus point when you come to sell.
