Community Fibre install and equipment/ONT question

[link to this post]

Hi all, great site and advice - I've been browsing back through the past year's answers but don't seem to be able to find an answer to this one - would be great if someone could help. TL;DR at the end.

Community Fibre is now available in my area and they've been very keen on the phone about getting it in. That's fine, but sadly the person I was speaking to couldn't answer some of my more detailed or technical questions.

I've recently had my house renovated and designed my to cut a long story short, after getting a standard kind of Openreach installation and designing cupboards, tiling etc etc around this there's not much I can now do regarding routing cables and points where the service comes into the house. Annoyingly, a few months later fibre is unexpectedly available!

I think things will be mostly fine, but what I need to know about and see is what Community Fibre place in the house. I'm not bothered about the Linksys router - I'll be replacing that with my own. I need to know the size and what the appearance is of what replaces the Openreach NTE master socket and the Huawei/ZT Link MT992 modem.

From browsing this forum I believe the modem would be replaced by the ONT - and Community Fibre seem to use one of these Adtran units, but I am unsure what the size and appearance of the master socket is. Or maybe I have that the other way around.

Either way, I watched this video of a CF install from a few years ago and it seemed that both boxes were very slim, look good, and would work - but neither seem to be the Adtran box, so I wonder if that is the standard now and the video is outdated.

TL;DR: Regardless, I need to know the size (how far they would stick out from the wall) of whatever CF installs at the point where the fibre comes into the house as there is limited width/depth there for equipment, but that is really the only place it can be located. There is power points there which I know will be needed - this is not an issue (though might be a minor issue if the plug is chunky and thick too, but I could sort this with extension leads etc, so I am not too worried about that.

Any measurements or pictures would be greatly appreciated!. Thanks in advance!

I have a gigabit CF connection installed in September 2020, and the wall-mounted pass-through box is identical to that in the install video you linked. The ONT is not, however, but it is an Adtran unit. It isn't the one you linked to, as it's a gigabit only box. It looks like this one.

The wall-mounted box is roughly 90x90x25mm and the ONT is 140x130x45mm (approximate but conservative values, given they're not perfectly square). The power plugs aren't particularly unusual in size.

Agreed, I was given an Adtran 621i XGS-PON ONT (1GE SFU) which works great.

We also have an external and internal pass-through / Splice Point Boxes.
