Alternatives to Smart Hub 2

[link to this post]

Any suggestions on an alternative router to BT Smart Hub 2 - my issue is not being able to allocate devices to a specific Channel (2.4 or 5). I am not using Digital Voice.

Thanks

Although replacing the whole router is an option, you can also consider adding a separate wireless access point (or multiple APs for better coverage)

I use two Unifi AC Lite, one each at front and back of house. You can configure these with different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5GHz if you like, which makes it simple to force a device to one or the other.

I separated the router and Wi-Fi here, that way I can upgrade one and not mess up the other.

I use a MikroTik Tik RB4011iGS+RM as the Router (i.e. no Wireless) and have a Unifi nanoHD for Wi-Fi at the back of the house, I plane to get another Nano for the front, just not got around to it yet.

I agree on the NanoHD's they are a great AP. It's just a shame Ubiquiti seem to have lost the plot in the successor AX range in the same form factor, offering 'only' a budget 2x2 AP when they really should have stuffed a proper 4x4 in there.

Yeah I did some reading and then got one, was going to get 2 at that same time, but wanted to see how well they worked here, which after some configuring it does. So I might get the other one later this year or the start of next year, no rush.

Not many devices are wireless here apart from Phones, and Tablets, due to most are all wired.
