Technicolor DGA4134NLK Bootloop?

[link to this post]

I have my ONT and my router plugged in to it and the router keeps boot looping. It has been plugged in for a long time and my ISP is quite useless and can’t send another out. I’ll call once more tomorrow and see if i can get it sent out but does anyone know if i can do anything to fix it?

Have you done a full factory reset of the router?

Is the routers the property of your ISP?

Presumably ONT is stable - that is PON light is solid and LOS light is off + power light is steady?

Does the router do auto updates? if so something may have gone wrong with one possibly.

I don’t think it does. I haven’t actually used this router so i’m not sure what the issue with it is.

Other than your ISP sending a replacement I don't know what other options you have if its in a continuous boot loop.

Insist they replace / swap it. Its part of the service package - given this is a business connection they should be able to get you a replacement in 24-48 hours.

As you say it must be part of the service, so without the router the service is pointless, its like a Sky Q service with a broken Sky Q box.

Out of interest has this router even been put to work / or for that matter the full service commissioned?

I did plug it in to test it but not into the actual dsl or wan port. Just into the mains and it was fine without a bootloop and when openreach came recently they said it’s looping and it may be doing that because of an update but i don’t think an update takes 3 weeks.

Really the service should have been fully operational from the point at which Openreach walked out of your door. By rights Unicom should be offering you a rebate / service credit for the time the service has not worked. This would be my starting off position with the call to the account manager at Unicom..

That's great news, Ryan! They are flaky devices. I can repeatably cause ours to crash and reboot just by connecting to its Wifi with a Chinese (Leeco) smartphone. Have you gotta return the bootlooping one? Or can you weigh it in for scrap?

I am assuming because yours was new it didn't have anything connected to it via wifi or the ethernet ports prior to the continuous boot loop?

That's fairly poor. Have you asked the ISP to investigate / provide a proper firmware update?
