If your friend has not yet finished cabling all rooms, and there is space and budget, then it’s useful to run at least two cables to each data outlet location. It makes more sense to do this once rather than later when building fabric, floorboard, decoration and furniture are in the way.

You usually want to connect more than one network device in a location and this gives you that extra latitude to do so.
