Friend having FTTP installed. Fibre cable ducted to house but no CSP, just coiled. Is it still OR who install the CSP and ONT or the individual ISP, in this case Sky ?

This is known as a '2 stage' install completed entirely by Openreach (or one of their contractors), some installs are also done as a '1 stage' install depending on a number of factors.

I believe Sky now have an arrangement with openreach where their own people will do the final install. Maybe limited at the moment.

After a recent trial was successfully completed, Sky now do many of their own ONT installations over Openreach via their QUBE engineers.
They can do the pulling in of fibre, CSP installation, splicing and finally the ONT installation and activation

Interesting. I get a vibe (based on nothing tangible) that you'd be better off with a Sky installer, than someone from Quinn or Kelly ? !

Could have sworn I read a news article announcing it either on here or ISPReview, but I can’t find it now only this article.
Also mention of “co-provisioning with CP customers” in this Openreach briefing from last November.
I see John has posted some further info above.

As the cable has been left coiled up, Openreach will be doing the installation, not Sky.
Sky are starting to do some of their own internal works from the CSP onwards, but this is limited at present to certain areas only, but will/is be rolled out further throughout the rest of this year.
Once this has been rolled out then Openreach will do the external works and leave a CSP fitted in all occasions ready for Sky or whoever to work from there inwards.

Whilst I would admit the Kowboy Comunications install we had was pretty poor, some of the work I've seen done by sky dish installers has been grim. A friend kept getting problems every year or so with his sky signal, the dish was installed on front of house a cable 'thrown' over roof to back and down wall with no clips. One of our tenants asked to have Sky installed, no problem I thought until seeing the internal cabling, sorted it myself.
