think broadband speed test

[link to this post]

One for the mods maybe..
Is it about time the think broadband test had its "speedo" recalibrated such that speeds above 50 dont smash the needle into the "stop" at the end?? perhaps have the dial to now read up to 500 rather than 50

I am on a 500 service and if i test the needle just slams past the 50 and sits there not showing any sort of fluctations even if the results show the speed to vary. doesvary up and down on the upload as i dont seem to get a rock steady upload unlike the download

Sorry no idea what step 3 is as I don't even see it here, 1, 2 then straight to 4

Maybe someone else will know.

It is labelled "initial upload test" so I presume the test is choosing how much upload to use to do the test.

Agreed, I'm on a 250 cable service and the dial goes to 100, so even on a 'bad' day I'm over the top limit. It would be great if it auto-scaled.... or the labs version was used on the main site... looks much better.

Or maybe a progressive scale.

Does the final result show the correct speeds?

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk, upgraded to fibre 40/10

Obviously, the dial should go from 0 to 11 smile
