Fiber installed but Build cancelled

[link to this post]

Apologies in advance if this has been asked before, I didn't find any email that addressed this specific issue.

I live in a small village where BT (ML106BF) has installed fiber in all the streets in the village last spring by a 3rd party contractor. We have been showing up in BT's build plans but few weeks ago the village and neighboring town was dropped off the build. What I'm suprised that with the fiber installed, which took few weeks for the contractor to install and now they seems to have dropped us from the build process. Is this normal? I did get automated message from BT when I checked with them stating that I might get FTTP btween now and 2026.

Have seen this happen before because of unexpected costs to deliver the build. You might find in the next financial year you're back on the road map if they are able to work around those unexpected costs. They have a price cap on what they are willing to spend per property to deliver the infrastructure.

Thanks Dect, it just feels a bit odd to spend all this resources to put the fiber in all ducts and poles in the village and leave it unused for over a year. I would have thought that would have been the most costly part of the build

they really do, just "stop" if there's an issue that they didn't foresee and it increase the costs massively. That said we have seen in all parts of the uk suffer from this. I hope you get some clarification and not left in limbo.
