IDNET CityFibre, own router setup?

[link to this post]

I got fibre to the home today from IDNET and Cityfibre. I told them I'd use my own router (Edgerouter X). They said I'd need my new username password, pppoe connection and a vlan for 911.

It doesnt work. Is anyone doing similar? Can anyone help. I've had to go back to my other connection while its still there as the kids were going feral..

I use IDNet through openreach with just PPPoE and it works with both my Edgerouter and UDMSE.
Cityfibre probably needs a vlan id unlike openreach based which doesnt, my post it just more to say they didnt have an issue with my routers.

Thanks, turns out it was just some strangeness with the edgerouter config. I got it working with vlan 911 with some gui and cli. Had to learn a bit of command line and work around some oddness to get the router configured right.

Hi mbits,
Would you mind sharing the "strangeness" you solved as I have the same router and setup that I want to address.

Thanks,
