Information on government funded gigabit projects

[link to this post]

Hi, is there any other info available - perhaps the actual contracts that were signed - for the various govt gigabit projects?

There's a complete lack of info on the govuk site as far as I can see, and the providers don't seem to have much, just come back soon for more info.

For example. in Cumbria, I can see enormous amount of roadworks for Fibrus on bidb, but no actual info of the rollout plan and which areas might get it (and when?).

@zyborg47 I wouldn't have bothered if I were you, despite being government funded all these contracts will be commercially confidential so they will never be made public.

Depending on how determined and desperate you are to see the information, there is nothing stopping you from submitted an FOI to the DCMS

Also in Cumbria .
WeFibre (Telecom Networks) have been laying Fibre locally(Keswick) and have gone live nearby.
Hyperfast GB (Fibrus) are now advertising that they are coming to Keswick.
Do both companies lay their own fibre ? Or is there some mandatory sharing arrangement as it appears to be government funded ?

Looks like WeFibre is funded through private capital investments through asset management or capital investments groups.

Fibrus is majority owned by a infrastructure capital investment group but seems to be using public funded money

They will lay their own fibre network and may use their own ducts and poles too but in some cases may use the ducts already there along with Openreach's (BT Group) PIA solution depending on what costs are involved.

Here we have City Fibre, Hyperopic and Openreach all using their own ducts and laying their own infrastructure.
