I've moved and got my broadband set up but it has never worked for 3 months.
Engineers come in and go out saying it's telephone exchange problem. They then get someone in the exchange to fix the problem which doesn't work and they send out the engineer to my place again.
The problem is that according to BT broadband checker, I should be served by Clerkenwell telephone exchange. I'm pretty sure it's a head end exchange and can do FTTP.
But the engineer is saying I'm served by Farringdon telephone exchange. I find no mentions of that online.
What I'm wondering, is there any chance that the FTTP is actually physically connected to wrong exchange?

It seems a little unlikely.
Is it definitely FTTP not FTTC that is supposed to be connected at your property ?

It is definitely FTTP in a multi dwelling unit. I already have an ONT.
The engineer did say my neighbours are having the same problem.

I suspect you're both talking about the same building but using different names .
There used to be a large exchange called Fleet building in Farringdon. That closed years ago and the equipment moved into clerkenwell exchange. I guess the engineer may have been around before the closure took place and still has fond memories . But it's not a headend exchange

The headend for Clerkenwell is Faraday (CLFAR).

Thanks. He wasn't only one who said it's Farringdon though, he's quite a young lad. I'm guessing it's an informal name for Faraday building or something else.
Are you sure about Clerkenwell not being a head end exchange? I'm quite aware a lot of exchanges around here are a head end for Faraday (Moorgate, Wood Street, Monument, Fleet etc) but Clerkenwell seems to be a bit far out for Faraday.

The data I have is from last year but the choice of headend locations will have been made quite some time ago.
Faraday is the headend for a large area, but not in the centre of it - Fleet, Monument, Wapping, Wood Street, Moorgate, Bishopgate, Shoreditch and Clerkenwell.

Yes. Even way back when in early FTTC days Clerkenwell cabinets hung off Huawei kit in Bishopsgate.

The whole exchange area is fed from 3 headend exchanges
