Hi folks.
As mentioned in this post Openreach e-mailed me on 23/4/25 and said FTTP would be available at my address 'by Jun/2025'. Before this the date mentioned was 'by Dec/2026' and then for a while it said 'Not yet available' when I checked. I was just wondering what the chances of them hitting this date is, do Openreach usually hit rollout dates that are so close to the announcement date?
I'm hoping since they've e-mailed in April and said by June that everything is arranged and almost ready to go. I'm hoping the phone pole being in my garden helps my chances a bit too 🤞 just not getting too excited yet since they've emailed multiple times saying I'm in the build plans then I'm not in the build plans over the years. Also afaik no-one in my town has FTTP yet and I expected to be amongst the last connected and not the first 😅

Just a wee update.
The Openreach website said 'by Jun/2025' up until this morning and it now just says 'Not yet available'. Does that happen a lot? I've seen Openreach doing work out and about but nothing on my street as yet. Hopefully it won't be too long but not expecting too much!

No surprise there. Today is 01 July, so their database is probably set up not to give a ready by date in the past.

We had openreach pulling fibres in the close etc over a year ago, and the guy who was running the job (it was his area apparently) said it should be available within a month or so.
So far, nothing.

Yes.
It'll be ready when it's ready. That's all you can say. Could be next week, could be next year, could be abandoned completely.

So far, nothing.
The majority of the work in my area was apparently done by March 2023 and originally showed availability starting in April 2023. After several 3 month delays (during this time I had a chat with a Kelly engineer who was commissioning the CBTs in our road and said that he'd needed to request several repairs from OR due to lack of light reaching some of them as some fibre splices had not been done) we were eventually able to order in mid-November 2023.
I feel fairly lucky that my wait was only about 9 months until FTTP was installed and running.

Another wee update, in the middle of July it changed to 'by Sep/2025' and then a few days later it changed again to 'We’ll be building in this area in the next year'.
It still says that today but Openreach appeared out of the blue this morning and ran an overhead fibre cable to my phone pole and left a length of coiled wire hanging and said someone would be back another time to splice the cable and run some tests. Not long afterwards someone appeared and spliced it so there's a CBT at the top of the pole now and one of these about halfway up (not my thread I'm linking to but quicker than uploading a photo myself 😅 )
When they left they said FTTP should be available for order within a couple of weeks, if so it means the delay hasn't been too long. Here's hoping 🤞

If yours is an SDU then yes for sure. If it's MDU then no for sure.

Broadband Checker changed yesterday and now says:
WBC FTTP Up to 1000 Up to 220 -- Available 1 Stage
Openreach.com still says:
We’ll be building in this area in the next year
It's funny how the databases all work 😅 I've managed to place an order fine and Openreach have text me to confirm the installation date so it's all looking good. Maybe a wee bit of hope for folk stuck with the "We’ll be building in this area in the next year" message, it could potentially go live any time without ever saying they're building in your area.

Yeah, for my property, it keeps saying “we’ll be building in this area in the next year”, but I’ve already long ascertained that they are already building in this area [i assume “area” means the “exchange area”] and quite a significant number of properties now have Full Fibre [most of those people seem to be getting service through poles but without any roadwork entries being made for their installation, so suspect a lot of properties — not on my estate though — either have busted ducts or DIG]

My installation happened on 29th of October as expected, it only took like an hour and they removed my copper line but left the master socket for some reason.
A 4 month delay wasn't too bad in the end. Hope everyone else who is waiting gets their upgrade soon 🤞

they removed my copper line but left the master socket for some reason.
That is likely to be policy, because the master socket terminates the customer's wiring, which can still be used.

Also they'd have to make good, which they wouldn't have the materials, or training, to do.
