Re: Chances of FTTP rollout date delay?

Broadband Checker changed yesterday and now says:

WBC FTTP Up to 1000 Up to 220 -- Available 1 Stage

Openreach.com still says:

We’ll be building in this area in the next year

It's funny how the databases all work 😅 I've managed to place an order fine and Openreach have text me to confirm the installation date so it's all looking good. Maybe a wee bit of hope for folk stuck with the "We’ll be building in this area in the next year" message, it could potentially go live any time without ever saying they're building in your area.

Yeah, for my property, it keeps saying “we’ll be building in this area in the next year”, but I’ve already long ascertained that they are already building in this area [i assume “area” means the “exchange area”] and quite a significant number of properties now have Full Fibre [most of those people seem to be getting service through poles but without any roadwork entries being made for their installation, so suspect a lot of properties — not on my estate though — either have busted ducts or DIG]

My installation happened on 29th of October as expected, it only took like an hour and they removed my copper line but left the master socket for some reason.

My Broadband Speed Test

A 4 month delay wasn't too bad in the end. Hope everyone else who is waiting gets their upgrade soon 🤞

That is likely to be policy, because the master socket terminates the customer's wiring, which can still be used.

Also they'd have to make good, which they wouldn't have the materials, or training, to do.
