BTNet Leased Line - questions

[link to this post]

Hi
So I have had a wires only BT leased line dropped on my lap to try and setup. I was not involved with the order in anyway but I am being expected to figure it all out.
I have had a look at that mega post about the SFP modules so I am going to grab details for that as I had never seen an Adva before.

Any pointers regarding this?
Also does the connection support IPv6 as ever bit of info I seem to find via google is very lightweight on what needs to be setup.

I am looking at a UDM with a SFP module (once I grab the module details) and ideally would like IPv6 as well.

Thanks

This isn't really the form for supporting lease line installs - it's more for the consumer products.

Would suggest your company foots the bill for a professional to come and install or you risk compromising the security and performance of your organisation. Why would your company order wires only if they don't have any IT people that know how to install it? Guessing they were cutting corners but that is likely to lead to trouble.

Wires only in this case means you have an NTE (the ADVA) - you need your own router.

The output will be either RJ45 or an SFP (up to 1G) or SFP (above 1G)... the person that ordered the circuit made that choice - you can't switch between (without a change order to BT).

If it's an SFP-present it'll very likely be MM duplex at 1G & below. If it's above 1G, you'd have to check.

Look at your provisioning information, it will tell you what port the service is handed off on and the IP addresses
