The fibre to my cabinet has been installed, and yesterday the cabinet was placed.

I spoke to the BT guys when the installed the fibre and they said that as far as they were aware the exchange would go live in December bit not all of the cabinets would be installed.

The corner of Middlewich street and Elm Drive now has an FTTC cab. My cab has changed too, I looked at it tonight and there is a new cab exactly where the old one used to be and three BT duct covers in front of it that weren't there before. Not sure whats going on there confused

Edited to add: It's not an FTTC cab either it's too small.

It doesn't look like that one at all, it looks like the more modern BT standard cab (they're wider and a bit taller than the old ones). There is a new FTTC cab further down the road but whether they will just patch us to that one or fit a new FTTC cab at some point I don't know.

they will probably patch it to the other fttc cab but had to replace your old cab to do this they will probably use a cable tie on the duct system as it does not make sense putting fttc next to every cab. im in same situation how far is the fttc cab from yours ? and what are your estimated speeds ? as mine are around 33mb which does imply it has to travel a distance or i would be getting 40mb like some one in my family where there cab is across the road .

Other scenerio could be your are getting a fttc cab next to it but they had to swap yours first for the new equipment
