Installation questions ...

For the BT techs

1. How long is the power lead that is used for the modem? I know where I want to put the modem - just need to ensure the socket is close enough.

2. Have you ever seen one wall mounted? or is there provision to do so?

3. Can I assume the 2701HGV-C Fibre Hub is the exact same profile as the standard ADSL variant but with a WAN port rather than DSL - I can then use the same wall mount fixings.

Not a BT Tech, but I measured mine- power lead is 3 metres.

I've wall-mounted mine- two "keyhole" type screwhead slots at 4" centres, can be either vertical (cables exit on right) or horizontal (cables exit at bottom).

Can't help with the last point.

I noticed teh speedtest.net results there - pre Infinity 350 miles from London, and then suddenly when installed it's just 100 miles! So, Infinity really does bring you closer.

Excellent ... It will be just under 2m so all should be fine.

The lead to the master socket is 2 metres (I think, didn't actually measure it) and is cheapo voice quality flat twin, not even twisted pair so you might want to think about something better if you have any local problem with electrical noise.

There are two possible locations for the modem - one will require about 200mm of lead from the master and the second about 400mm. I have got some 2 pair Cat5e leads terminated in RJ11s already and use those for the existing ADSL.

That doesn't mean anything really, its based on where your IP address has been registered.

Ah, but at the speed of light your mass becomes infinite, so better start watching your (band)width stats. 300kg per month is easily achieved!
