that faceplate is a simple user fit, could be used for ADSL too (at least where there's an NTE5). Avoids the need for end users to do IDC connections.

Extremely daft question but.. are all Openreach FTTC/FTTH connections presented at the customer's end this way?

As far as I have seen for FTTC, yes. FTTH will be different with a fibre termination but have not seen any.

Yes but! It looks as though as long as you hang on to your existing faceplate rather than letting the engineer junk it, you can put it back when he has gone.
