Hi all,
MY RFS date has been changed to monday, and im wanting to move onto FTTC due to the poor connection that i receive via ADSL.
Now as i understand O2 (who i am with now)/BE have no intentions on providing FTTC at the moment?
Im looking for a cheap alternative to o2, who i have been extremely happy with in general, (at the moment paying about £13).
Having had a look at some of the options available on this forum, it seems ADSL24 maybe the cheapest for what you get?
Ie i can get 30gb peak, unlimited off peak for £27.90 a month,
i know there is always the option of BT, but as a company i hate them, and their stupid throttling.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

That depends exactly what you get, in terms of reliable throughput. There has to be a reason for low prices - I suspect the unlimited period may get congested.

My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre.

depends on what you use the connection for as 30gb really isnt that much, and the unlimited part is only 12pm-8am so only 1 third of the day, which is only 1 gig per day, on a 40mb line that isnt going to last long, whereas bt do throttle but only on things you shouldnt be doing like peer to peer d/l's, and its obvious you wont be doing that when your looking at a 30gb package, and bt have a fair usage policy of 300 gb so 10 times as much for l £2 less money, bit of a no brainer really, im sure bt have priced other companys out of the game because no isp that i have seen so far can compete on price/usage.

I do actually do quite a bit of P2P, however most of this is done during the night, so really 1gb a day is plenty for gaming, and browsing the web, especially when i work during the day anyway!

Good job large amounts of internet users also consider other factors when deciding broadband then. It's certainly not all about price and usage.

We don't price match as everything is carefully worked out, however we don't charge a setup fee which will save you at least £50, if not more. I'm not aware of any other ISP who does free setup atm.
Our off-peak is indeed unlimited.

I would recommend contacting [email protected] with your details and any further thoughts you have. That's the only real way we can check everything and give you a full answer.
