Re: BT Infinity Checker changed today.. Now to 30th Sept

But does anyone have any idea why? I have heard rumbles about utility companies not keeping up but that can't really be the whole reason. Why not liven up exchanges by "X" number cabinets at a time?
They do mention that there is built in contingency with these dates so anything in between could be correct.

I noticed the same on the checker and mentioned it to a friend. He said he had spoken to engineers who had been working on our estate (Grange Farm) and they said it would be a "matter of weeks".

Let's hope so!

I'm only over the road in Crownhill so that's made me feel a lot more optimistic. blush)

Thanks - there is no mention of plans for FTTC on the Eversley number I searched, although elsewhere I see that it's scheduled for September. Is there normally an additional period after the exchange has been upgraded before ISPs start to offer services?

OK, I had already tried that but it didn't have any useful information. But I did register interest in FTTC via the option button.

This link I got from Aquiss shows Eversley as Sept 2011 on page 12:

http://support.aquiss.net/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=...

I remember at one point before Christmas, it only showed FTTC would be available on the "post code checker".

Later on the number checker showed it as well. A contact on the MKBAG broadband action group let us know which cabinets we were on by postcode, and if they were due to be enabled for FTTC.

Maybe one of the ISP's who frequent here may be able to tell you?

OP here. I hope this is true. How they can delay so far beyond the original dates is insane.

Hi,
I'm in Nash (about 2miles outside of MK - west from Oxley park / Kingsmead), also on SMSU and we were supposed to have had an FTTC date of 30/03/2011 - even down to the roadworks being planned on Elgin (www.elgin.gov.uk). Suddenly for some unknown reason they were cancelled and our date has moved to 30/09/2011 too. Whaddon which is one mile closer to MK and on SMSU too now have their cabinet...

Talk about frustrating!!

Regards,
Andrew

Nobody will give you a correct answer as to why FTTC is not live, you will get all sorts from BT CS/sales team as I've found out. But the best 1 of all is that my exchange is not being upgraded to Fibre but my dad's is and yet we're on the same exchange but according to CS we have 2 Exchanges in Llantrisant, asked where they were and was given 2 addresses which in fact was the main road it's on and the row of house's behind it!!!!!!!
Just had a chat with a BT OpenReach guy down the road and he told me it's all up and ready to go and is in fact live, so he not know why there are nobody using it
