Orl I respect that you're a very keen advocate of BT Infinity in it's purest form (from BT), however I think most agree that the manner in which you put your points across is sometimes just plain rude.
BT isn't the be-all and end-all of FTTC broadband, there are other providers out there so that the consumer has
choice, whether it be on bandwidth shaping, throttling, download caps, upload speeds, etc.
BT does
NOT offer the best of everything, sure, they have the most "unlimited" package (which isn't surprising as they rolled out the service). But they have severe traffic-shaping for P2P and other protocols, just ask the guys who played the RIFT beta.
A 45GB monthly cap during the hours that most people are at work is a moot point for some people, myself included; I leave the house by 8am and don't get back till 7:30pm, so whatever I download in that 30 mins counts towards my 45GB. Not exactly a big deal, plus I get no traffic shaping, better customer support and a 12 month contract instead of an 18 month. Is that better than BT Infinity? For me, yes.
