New router for BT Infinity

I'm having some trouble with the wireless on the Home Hub 3, so I'm thinking about buying a better router.

How easy is it to get another router working with BT Infinity? Is it simply a case of plugging in the Openreach modem into the WAN port on the router and the router automatically detecting the correct settings? Or do you have to manually input settings?

I'm looking at getting the Cisco Linksys E2000, seems to have got some decent reviews.

I'm using the Apple Airport Extreme (simply because I had one already) and just set it to use PPPoE and entered the BT user name and password (Wan side). The Lan side was already set up for my network.

The Openreach engineers set up the Homehub 3 but as soon as they were out the door I swapped back to the AAE.

All I can find in the settings on the Home Hub 3 is:

Broadband username: [email protected]
Password: Not configured

I think youve answered your question
Broadband username: [email protected]
Password: Leave blank or enter BT

I'm using a Netgear WNR1000. Just had to click the set-up wizard, and enter the afore-mentioned username.

Thanks for the help, just seemed a bit weird entering a blank password. I'll get one ordered seen as it looks like there shouldn't be any issues getting it to work.
