Yes,the FTTC has not even been placed yet.

I had an engineer round last week to fix my terrible connection and he had no idea when cabinet 66 would get upgraded. He said in the 15 minutes he was working on it 5 people asked him about fibre. Felt quite sorry for him actually. All he could say was that once you see markings sprayed on the pavement around the cabinet it should be no more than two weeks from that point.

I really am starting to think it has been overlooked. Maybe BT have old maps dating back to when there was nothing but scrubland there.

Its really frustrating because we moved (around the corner) to this new place just before Christmas and the place we moved from now has fibre, like everywhere else in Crewe. Now we still have to put up with painfully slow speeds.

Is there any way all of us on cabinet 66 can group together and make ourselves heard, to show BT that there is a need for an upgraded cabinet in this area?

All I can say is that the BT spreadsheets that escaped into the wild last month *do* show that cab 66 on Haslington is included in phase 5b alongside the others.

I believe I was one of those 5, and he told Me that he had no idea if it was going ahead.
Wonder if it would be worthwhile going to the Exchange at Queen Street.Any Ideas?

Hi, previously Anonymous and fellow cabinet 66 sufferer here.
I do think we might need to give BT a nudge somehow. Not sure if we could just walk in to the exchange, but we could try. Would they be open at weekends though? Ill e-mail you and we can figure something out.

Just checked the BT Wholesale checker and guess what:-

Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 30th September 2011. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 29.4Mbps and upstream line speed of 6.4Mbps.

*****Y Typical,
