I wonder what that is for...

I think that might be news to both C&W and TalkTalk!

I am not sure what you meant by that but today on my way to work they were still digging very hard..

I also saw an OpenReach board next to the C&W board...

You said that C&W were a part of the TalkTalk Group. I said that I suspected it would be news to both of them if that were the case. You corrected your post since.

C&W aren't involved in the FTTC/P deployments as far as I know. Could be core network or business service goodness, FTTC/P isn't a lot of digging.

now as a rule there is not much digging for FTTC but when it comes to FTTP there can be a LOT of digging ! depends on if you have duct from cab to house or not !

I should rephrase that thusfar there hasn't been much digging. Although to be fair there hasn't been much FTTP either.

only digging is from dslam to pcp..unless existing ducts where they are running the spine etc has collapsed and hence require repair

Old thread I know but I just wanted to say that thus far there has been almost no digging involved in Exeter's FTTP deployments. Openreach had to cut a very small hole in one pavement to repair a collapsed duct but other than that it's been a matter of feeding the fibre through existing ducts up existing poles with no digging whatsoever...
