I've now bought the RVS4000, up and running....
To start with I was only getting 22Mbps download speeds, but after a bit of trawling round the net, discovered that the IPS (intrussion detection system) that Cisco impliments absolutely happers the CPU. With that turned off I get over 38Mbps now and 8Mbps up.
I also managed to get the VPN working, talking to a Netgear FVS338 in the office. Had a few teething problems and had to work out a combination that both were happy with, but now have VPN tunnels in place as well.
So now I know these do what I want, I've ordered the WRVS4400N so that I can create my DMZ and retire my old modem, router and wireless access point all in one go.
You could use the WRVS4400N on its own if you just wanted a wireless router with VPN (or even without VPN).
These things come with tons of configuration options, and some VPN configuration software to help out as well. Very nice bits of kit.
I'm a happy bunny.
