If you could try to find your router stats then we could give you a good idea what speed you would get on ADSL2+. Almost certainly much better than you have now.
You can get (subject to them not being sold out there) ADSL2+ from Be, (
good); O2, (
OK for browsing, email, shopping etc but not good for P2P), TalkTalk, (
not good for P2P), and some TalkTalk Business resellers who may be better to deal with than TT direct and at least one can do SMPF and get away from TT P2P throttling - at a price.
You may or may not have noticed quite a few people have said that on high ADSL2+ speeds they wouldn't yet move to FTTC. You may be fast enough to be in the same category.
So although you can't get FTTC, you could have a lot faster than at the moment.
