Yes but potentially more backhaul capacity is needed and why would they not charge more for something that provides more? It'd expect it to be at least £5-10 more than current 40/10.

I saw an Openreach price list for the 80Mbps upgrade the other day, but not hitting the right searches today. Odd that I didn't bookmark it frown.

That was just the change-over prices, not ongoing stuff. I don't think I saw anything about that. So any differences could depend on the ISPs' individual policies.

I can see the profiles being changed and the speeds going up without price increases to try and gain market uptake. Apparently despite the headline figures being published Openreach and BT are not happy with the take up of FTTC so far. Giving up to 80mb and in effect getting clear of Virgin may well help.
