Hi,

Thanks for asking, it ok not as fast as i expected through im only getting around 10-20Mb down and 5-10 up. which i know i shouldent complain i just thought i would have got closer to 30-35Mb as im 0.4km from the cab.

I'm going to give it a few days to settle and hopefully it may improve.

it may settle down after a few days not sure weather digital region have a training period or not are you using wireless by any change because that can affect speed a lot on faster connections i know from first hand experience how bad it can be even at full signal

Hi,

Hopefully they do have a training period and it will increase, i did cable a pc directly to the digital region modem and assign it the public ip just to test it was not wireless or anything else on my network causing a problem smile

Cheers for the idea though

Hmm hopfully its just traning then the ping is a little high for FTTC based broadband too i expect that to be way below 20 normally so ill say fingers crossed its training lol if after 10 days its still the same (slower speeds higher ping) give Origin a ring see if theres any probs.

What dose the Origin broadband post code checker say you shoud get.

Hi,

it show a lot higher than im getting see the screen grab.

Search Results within 1.3km:
DIN002
10Mbit/s 37Mbit/s
0.3 km
These results are estimated, more accurate speeds will require a site survey.

yea i thought it would be something like that most digital region connections get above 25 estimates so its defo either a training period or a fault

have you trued it in the test socket behind the faceplate its always worth a try if that fails give them a quick buz and see what they say

Yeah tried that as well, all though it currently in via a BT iPlate i had one of these previously but i bought a new one and also a new face plate for the bottom half of the iPlate as the previous ones had been in quiet a while and i thought new one's wouldn't hurt. also the property where i live has only been built 5 year-ish and its all new cabling to the street thats why i expected higher speeds

In the same boat at the moment, was activated on tuesday and getting around 10 - 20meg . But on the speedtest every so often it can hit 36ish for a bit but not sustained.

i'm about 20meters from the CAB at the end of the road so was expecting nearer 40.

postcode checker details

Search Results within 1.3km:
WIC014
10Mbit/s 40Mbit/s
0 km
These results are estimated, more accurate speeds will require a site survey.

Cross both of the situations and im thinking defo some sort of training give it 10 days and then see if anything improved if not i think its best to ring the ISP and ash what's going on
